Oliver with a Twist
βοΈππ What a busy and exciting week! ππβοΈ
In Maths, we have been learning all about time, focusing on reading and recognising oβclock times. β°
In English, the children wrote some wonderful poems inspired by their summer senses, using lots of fantastic descriptive language. πΌβοΈπ
We also took part in a cricket workshop, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. If your child is interested in developing their cricket skills, training for this age group takes place on Mondays at 5.30pm at Nawton Cricket Ground. π
Despite the warm weather, the children have coped brilliantly with the heat. We used it as a great learning opportunity to discuss sun safety, and the children designed informative posters highlighting the key ways to stay safe in the sun. They did a fantastic job! ππ§’π§
Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Our Year 6 children have been taking part in their Bikeability sessions this week, learning the skills and confidence they need to cycle safely on the roads. From road awareness and signalling to safe junctions and manoeuvres, the children have worked brilliantly and shown great responsibility throughout.

Countryside Day
On Wednesday Silver Birch class thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Duncombe Park for this year's 'Countryside Day' . They participated in lots of fabulous outdoor learning activities including pretending to milk cows, making small clay pots, visiting the 'Secret Garden' and learning about how we should look after the countryside. Although it rained a lot the children demonstrated excellent resilience and completed the walk there and back with smiles on their faces. It was a great day out! π
